Here is a list of the most frequently asked questions. If you do not see your question here, please email our office or enter your question into the contact us form, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q. What does Acupuncture Treat?
A. Treatments are beneficial for:
■Pain Relief
■Pediatrics (digestive, nightmares, headaches, etc)
■Digestive complaints
■Cardiovascular disease
■Allergies, Sinusitis, Flu/Cold
■Autoimmune diseases
■Pulmonary disorders
■Gynecological—Fertility, Menstrual, Menopause
■Symptoms associated with Chemotherapy/Cancer treatment
■And so much more!

Q. Does Acupuncture hurt?
A. No! Our needles are so thin, flexible, and tiny—they are actually thinner than human hair!—that you hardly feel them. Some points you feel more than others, but it is not painful. Treatments are actually surprisingly relaxing. Because the stimulation of these points cause your brain to release endorphins and oxytocin (the feel-good chemicals), you will feel a deep relaxation.

Q. I’m interested in acupuncture for my child, but I don’t think they will sit still or be willing to work with needles. What can you do in those cases?
A. We work with every child to show them how this medicine works and they get to CHOOSE how the practitioner decides on their treatment. We first create trust with your child so that every experience is a good one and the child develops good healthy patterns from the beginning. Sitting still is NOT required—all of our practitioners are trained to handle the squirmiest of infants/kids. If the child refuses to have needles (that does happen sometimes), we work with other healing modalities to still provide great healthcare. Every child benefits from treatment, no matter their temperament.

Q. Do you take Insurance?
A. Unfortunately the insurance policies available in the State of Idaho does not currently pay for acupuncture benefits. If your insurance is with another state, please contact us and we can see if it is possible to bill your insurance. All Idaho residents with Idaho insurance, however, has to pay cash at time of service.

Q. What are your rates?

A. First visit is $130. Return visits are $75.

Q. How long is a session?

A. First sessions can last up to an hour. Return sessions are about 30 minutes. **Keep in mind that a session is not about the TIME, it is about providing the appropriate services for each condition. Some cases require less time, some cases require more.**

Q. I don’t have any pain, but I am interested in natural healthcare. Do I have to have something “wrong” with me to be able to come in?
A. No. Pain is just one of the conditions we treat. The best part about natural healthcare is its ability at PREVENTION. This means that even if nothing is “wrong”, you can still benefit from treatment and prevent future breakdowns, disease, etc.

Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. There are a lot of factors that go in to how quickly your body will heal—like how long you’ve had the condition, genetics, lifestyle, etc.—so it’s very difficult to give an estimate of how many treatments you will need before seeing how you respond to the acupuncture session. On average 6 visits tends to be the magic number; but in very severe or chronic conditions, this number could easily get up to 20+. We respect your time and money, however, and will always endeavor to get you to your goal as fast as possible. After the 2nd or 3rd treatment, after the acupuncturist has had a chance to evaluate how quickly your body responded to the acupuncture, we will provide you with a treatment plan so that you know exactly what to expect during this process.
